Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about GLP-1 treatment and our services

Is the consultation really in English – and really free?

Yes. All our doctors offer consultations in English, and there is no surcharge for it. You pay exactly the same price as Czech-speaking patients.

Do I need Czech public health insurance?

No. Weight-loss medication is self-pay for everyone in the Czech Republic – locals and foreigners, insured or not. Your insurance status does not affect the treatment. You pay GoOn only for consultations and pay for medication at the pharmacy.

Can I get a Czech e-prescription as a foreigner?

Yes. The Czech eRecept system works for self-paying foreign patients using your name and date of birth – no Czech insurance number is needed. You receive a prescription code by SMS; bring it to the pharmacy, because the ID-card lookup Czech citizens use does not work for foreign nationals.

How much does it cost?

With GoOn you only pay for consultations – you choose one, three or six, and more consultations mean a better price per visit. Medication is paid separately at the pharmacy; depending on the product and dosing, treatment typically comes to roughly 2,000 to 6,000 CZK per month. Treatment can last months to years, and a lasting lifestyle change is key to keeping the results.

Is GLP-1 treatment safe?

GLP-1 medicines have been through extensive clinical trials and are generally considered safe. They can have side effects, most commonly digestive issues, and they are not suitable for everyone – for example during pregnancy. That is why treatment always starts with a doctor’s assessment and continues under regular medical supervision through follow-up consultations.

What if the doctor decides treatment is not right for me?

That can happen – every case is assessed individually, and the doctor may decline to prescribe or recommend a different approach, such as our lifestyle program. The questionnaire and consultation exist precisely so that you get an honest medical opinion, not a guaranteed prescription.
